Here we have a Fin and Fur knife made by Arno Bernard Knives. It sports a wart hog ivory handle perfect for scrimshaw artwork, and has a matching wart hog lanyard bead. The handle material shows the various layers of color typical of warthog ivory, and one of the beauty points that draw people to it.
The blade with its superb hand rubbed mirror finish is made from N690 steel and is a full tang construction. You may not know but Bohler N690 is known for its edge holding sharpness. Combine that with the full tang construction and this knife is as useful and field worthy as they come. A top quality bovine leather sheath completes the package, – well, almost…
This knife is screaming for some custom work! Following its name – Fin and Fur- this sleek knife speaks to me of a fish cutting through the water. How about a gorgeous trout leaping from the stream, a fly just out of reach? Or better yet, a colorful pheasant taking off across the field, the tops of the corn tassels blowing in the wind? You can see some examples of similar pieces on my Gallery page and get in touch with me for the custom work here.
The blade is 3 1/4″ and the over all length is 6 3/4″. Scrimshaw artwork is additional and determined by the amount of coverage and design.
