Description
Ray Beers made this Fierce Tiger/Palm Hunter. Peering out of the bamboo forest, the fierce tiger growls a warning to all. Hand-etched and signed by the artist. The artist’s son, Nick Palencsar, (Fray and Son Engraving), beautifully executed the bolster’s engraving, wrapping the bamboo around the stainless steel bolster. This is the second mother/son collaborative. The first, Black Panther /Palm Hunter can be viewed here. These 2 knives make a beautiful one-of-a-kind pair. In the works is a 3rd and smallest of the palm hunters.
“The handle’s deep belly complements the drop-point blade shape and fits comfortably in your hand. The knife is in mint condition, measuring 9.25 inches overall. It features a full tang 4.75-inch blade made of 440C stainless steel, polished to a mirror shine. The handle, 4.5 inches long, is made of Westinghouse paper micarta with a rich golden hue. The unique shape is a Ray Beers staple. This versatile knife is suitable for use or carry, and the artwork brings it to a whole new level! Each knife includes a full-grain cowhide sheath, hand-constructed by the maker.”
Sadly, Mr. Beers passed away in 2021. This means that this is your only opportunity to own a stunning piece of craftsmanship and artistic collaboration by a legendary knifemaker, a scrimshander, and an engraver. This Fierce Tiger/ Palm Hunter is definitely one of a kind.
